Case IH forms exclusive distribution alliance with Bednar FMT

Case IH and Bednar FMT have announced a strategic distribution agreement that sees Bednar FMT supply its range of farm machinery exclusively through the Case IH dealer network.

With a strong focus on innovation, Bednar FMT currently exports its wide range of cultivation, drilling and fertilising equipment to 39 countries worldwide from its base in the Czech Republic. From 1st August 2020, in the UK and ROI markets, Bednar FMT will only distribute its range of farm equipment through Case IH dealers.

“We have entered into this relationship with one aim; to secure a well-respected, forward-thinking brand for our Case IH dealer network, enhancing the product offering they are able take to their customers,” said Paul Harrison, Business Director Case IH UK & ROI. “From a 2m topper to an 18.4m disc cultivator, Bednar offers a full range of agronomic solutions for mixed and arable farmers alike.”

In the UK and ROI division of Bednar, Managing Director Warren Rivers-Scott and his team will continue to be responsible for the sales, demonstrations and support of the Bednar equipment. However, Case IH and Bednar will work together at dealer, regional and national events, supporting the growth of both businesses through the Case IH dealer network.

On reaching this agreement Warren commented: “Despite being a well-known and well-respected brand in Europe, Bednar is a new name on the lips of many farmers in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Bednar is a family business that prides itself on its close relationships with farmers, we are sure that with the cooperation of Paul and his Case IH team, Bednar machines will quickly become a favourite in many fields around the countryside. This is a fantastic opportunity for Bednar, Case IH and its dealers. But most of all, it offers a progressive range of products to British and Irish growers.”

Paul added: “We look forward to working with Bednar FMT and firmly believe this relationship will bring both opportunity and franchise security to the Case IH dealer network.”

The new Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect series: when power meets technology

Quadtrac 540 CVXa

New line of articulated 4WD tractors / Proven power with a redesigned cab / Includes advanced technology for easier operation and ultimate connectivity / Available in Europe in Autumn 2020

Case IH introduces the new Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect™ series tractor. Recently announced at Commodity Classic in the USA, this new range will be available in Europe during the second half of the year 2020, with some specific features for the European market.

The range will include in total 14 models, covering 420 to 620 HP range. Quadtrac AFS Connect™ will be available from 470 to 620 HP, and Steiger AFS Connect™ from 420 to 500 HP range. Several upgrades will be included, such as a redesigned cab and ultimate connectivity to allow comfort and higher productivity.

Workhorse power and performance

The new lineup of Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect™ tractors can be configured to fit any operation and is built for a range of applications.

With two industry-leading transmissions to choose from, Case IH can deliver the optimal choice to meet an operation’s requirements. The fuel-efficient PowerDrive powershift transmission delivers 20% faster shifting and a record-setting 682 peak-horsepower on the Quadtrac 620 model. The CVXDrive™ — the first continuously variable transmission for an articulated 4WD tractor —automatically balances power and efficiency.

The Quadtrac AFS Connect™ tractors also feature larger fuel tanks to cover more acres before needing to refuel. Producers can work for longer with no engine regeneration, 600-hour oil change intervals and ground-level maintenance to lower operation costs and keep equipment in the field.

Nebraska Tractor Tests confirmed that Case IH Quadtrac and Steiger tractors are the industry’s most powerful and fuel-efficient tractors available.

Advanced technology and ultimate connectivity

The connectivity solution from Case IH, AFS Connect, will be embedded into the cab of the tractor, bringing new levels of productivity. It enables two-way data transfer between the machine and the manager. This allows farm managers to manage with precision their farm, fleet and data from their office or mobile device.

The connectivity system includes three key components, the AFS Pro 1200 display, the AFS Vision Pro operating system and the AFS Vector Pro receiver. These elements allow users to configure tractor management and precision farming functionality in the way they prefer.

AFS Connect technology also makes it possible for remote display viewing of the tractor’s AFS operating screen by farm owners, managers and – with permission – the dealers supporting their equipment. This can help identify problems and allow deeper insight to be gained into how they are caused and how they might be addressed.

Case IH receives two “Machine of the Year” awards at Agritechnica 2019

LB436balerMOTY·
··· moty award L-R_Maxime Rocaboy and Dan Stuart

Case IH awarded for its newly launched LB436HD baler and for its new mixed-fleets connectivity partnership DataConnect / LB436 HD has new and upgraded features including pick-up, driveline, density system and knotter technology / DataConnect enables global mixed-fleet customers to view their machine data in the platform of their choice·

The new LB436 HD baler has been awarded “Machine of the Year 2020” in the category “Hay and Forage”, and DataConnect connectivity solutions in the “Electronics” category during a ceremony held at Agritechnica in Hannover, Germany. The jury, composed of a panel of European agricultural magazine editors, recognized the several benefits of this new baler range, brought by its innovative new features, enabling farmers and contractors to pack more material into every bale, while reducing handling requirements and transport costs. The new connectivity partnership “DataConnect” enables mixed-fleet customers to manage farm, fleet and data more easily.

New baler LB436HD

With new designs and components throughout, the LB436 HD is capable of producing bales with up to 22% greater density than the LB434 XL model, which produces the same 120 x 90cm bale size and remains in the range.

Features unique to the LB436 HD include a new main gearbox and mid-ship gearbox with gearshift overload protection for high power transfer and driveline safety. In addition, an innovative new twine knotter system, named TwinePro, is designed to boost productivity while eliminating field litter and bale contamination. The LB436 HD is fully ISOBUS Class 3 compatible, meaning not only can it be controlled from an ISOBUS terminal in the tractor cab, but the baler can also control the tractor’s actions, such as increasing forward speed in light areas of swaths, to automatically boost workrates.

DataConnect

The joint effort between Case IH, STEYR, New Holland, CLAAS, John Deere and 365FarmNet aims to enable mixed-fleet customers to view their machine data in the platform of their choice. The participating brands have all agreed to enable cloud-to-cloud exchange of machine information (machine location, speed, fuel level, working status) in their competing telematics platforms. This will bring even further benefits to the recently launched Case IH AFS Connect telematics portal.

“The new LB436 HD offers higher density for the same bale size, as well as economic and environmental benefits thanks to its new TwinePro knotter system, while DataConnect brings our customers the freedom they need to manage their mixed-brand fleets with the highest possible efficiency.” says Thierry Panadero, Case IH Vice President Europe.

“The Machine of the Year 2020 awards are a real accolade for our products and solutions, underlining the Case IH focus on solutions for technology-oriented professional producers.”

New suspended front axle option brings greater working comfort to Case IH Quantum tractors

Case IH Quantum

Front suspension option for specialty tractor range / Available on·Quantum·V, N and F·models with·cabin, with or without front axle brakes / In-house innovative design / Suspension height·can be set manually from the cab / Four ride modes suit every conditions and applications

A new suspended front axle option is now available for Case IH Quantum tractors, bringing to the specialty tractor sector the same levels of on-road and in-field comfort that operators of larger models in the Case IH range already benefit from, helping to reduce fatigue and increase productivity.

New suspended front axle ·

The new suspended front axle suspension option has been designed by Case IH engineers along similar lines to the established design proven on larger tractors. Utilising a swing arm design connected by a saddle-type pivot, the layout of the suspension system means the structure is particularly robust which ensures no friction is created between the saddle bar and the front axle.

With its pivot center located in a higher position than on alternative systems, the suspension provides higher·levels of rolling comfort. There is +/- 3° of movement at the compression end-stop position, and +/- 8° at all other positions.

Suspension height·can be set up manually from the cab, and this also allows any front implement to be attached and adjusted more easily. The system has four ride modes·to suit all applications: locked, soft, medium and hard.

Additional features have been developed in order to further improve the driving experience of the new suspended front axle Quantum models. These include automatic ride height control, which ensures the full travel of the suspension is made available regardless of the load on the front axle.

An anti-dive/squat feature·is designed to maximize tractor stability even when heavy implements are attached, while axle roll control balances the oil flow between the two cushioning cylinders, providing greater stability and comfort in hilly terrain.

Availability of the new features

The new suspended front axle option can be ordered on·Quantum·V, N and F·models specified with a cab, and is available whether the tractor is fitted with front axle brakes. Operation of the front linkage, where specified, is unaffected.
