As a co-operative, the business is owned by its members and revolves around the supply and demand of goods and services between its members. We’ve been asking our members what they value about Ringlink.
We hear the thoughts of Jim Panton, area manager at 2Agriculture, Blairgowrie.
“I oversee nine poultry broiler farms at 2Agriculture with around a million and a half chickens. I’ve been using Ringlink for about 25 years and we have a really good relationship with them.
We started out using them solely for machinery hire to muck out poultry sheds. It’s grown significantly from there to include equipment hire, labour, training, and then there’s fuel for generators, gas engineers, joiners and builders … the list goes on.
We’re a fast-moving business and Ringlink is very efficient, which in turn makes our business much more efficient too.
For example, I called them today because sickness means we’re needing three people for tomorrow and 99% of the time, I’ll get a WhatsApp with a thumbs-up. They’re pretty resourceful and if they can’t find anyone in their own region, they’ll reach out to other offices or other Rings to make sure they get what you need.
Anyone who has a lot going on and uses a wide range of services, I would strongly encourage them to engage with Ringlink, because it will absolutely make their life easier.
We’re quite good at setting them challenges! When we pick up the phone and tell them what we need, they literally just go off and start looking. You feel that they genuinely go above and beyond to help you out.
Their service is about more than just saving time. Their buying power as a co-operative means we get things like red diesel for the generators or gravel at a much better rate than we would by ourselves.
Plus, using the Ring makes the whole operational process so much easier. I don’t have to go over my company card limit or purchase items myself and then claim it back. They source it, they purchase it and they invoice me – it simplifies the process.
I’d say it’s a pleasure dealing with Ringlink. I’ve known them for so long that you almost class some of these people as friends now. Anyone who has a lot going on and uses a wide range of services, I would strongly encourage them to engage with Ringlink, because it will absolutely make their life easier.”
