The Job

As Trainee Area Manager you will working within an experienced team dealing with both agricultural and non-agricultural businesses, which involves facilitating requirements for the purchase, sale and distribution of agricultural products and services.

This position would be ideal for someone ready to take the first step on to the management ladder or who has management aspirations to expand their role with training and time.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate the purchase, sale and distribution of agricultural inputs and outputs
  • Assist with the hire of machinery services between members for both agricultural and non-agricultural businesses.
  • Respond to members requests by telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Administration duties will include recording enquires and processing of members bookings on our bespoke Ringdata IT system.
  • Assist with membership management, to ensure member satisfaction whilst increasing engagement and sourcing new members for the co-operative.
  • Provide support to members and colleagues during key business times, adopting a flexible approach to working hours ensuring a consistent level of service.
  • Mainly office based but will be required to carry out site visits periodically.
  • Identify areas for improvement to boost company effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines.

Our requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience gained within the land-based industry
  • An effective communicator and real people person who is great at building relationships
  • Highly organised, adaptable and used to managing your own time and workload
  • Enthusiastic and a great team player
  • An approachable manner and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Full Driving Licence and own transport.
